Pam received the Betty Crocker Cookbook for Boys & Girls at a Lodge Christmas Party. She was hooked and remembers making “3 men in a boat”, the “circus cake” and many other recipes. As a child, weekends where gloriously spend food shopping with her parents and grandmother. Frequent trips were made to the Broadway Market, a far piece to travel to food, but well worth every trip. Later, the North Tonawanda Farmer’s Market became the family’s favorite food outing during the spring, summer and fall. Weekly trips to local bakeries and meat markets were always time well spent.
Pam started cooking in earnest in Junior High, when her mother, Annabelle, asked her to put a roast in the oven for her. Under her mother’s guidance she took on more cooking responsibilities. “Cuisine” magazine soon entered the family home. Spinach Gnocchi where her first must try recipe. Her love for ethnic foods was born.
Her husband of 38 years, Will, has always supported her enthusiasm for food. Ethnic restaurants, cooking classes, kitchen equipment were always O.K., although he swears he changed this middle name to “lab animal”. Now it’s the Gilbert Farmer’s Market, and Queen Creek Olive Mill they frequent.
Pam new cookbook “Around Annabelle’s Table” is due out in the Fall of 2017.
